Tattoo Contest at Baum Fest 25: Everything You Need to Know
The Barcelona Tattoo Expo, taking place from October 3rd to 5th, 2025 as part of BAUM Fest, hosts one of the most comprehensive tattoo competitions in Europe: the Tattoo Contest. Over 250 artists tattooing live, multiple categories, prizes for artists and clients, and major visibility opportunities.
From small one-day pieces to large-scale tattoos developed over the full weekend, the Tattoo Contest is pure art, technique, and passion. Get involved, participate, and make history through your work on skin.
Rules and Competition Structure
The official rules are available in the event’s regulations section, and the process is as follows:
Registrations are done daily at the Information stand, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and only during this time slot. For the Healed Tattoo category, registration is exclusively on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Only tattoo artists with an official booth at the convention are eligible to participate.

Requirements and Conditions
All pieces must be created during the convention, except for healed tattoos.
To compete for Best of Day, the tattoo must be completed that same day.
For Best of Show, large-scale pieces done over two or three days are recommended.
Small tattoos must not exceed 15 cm or they will be disqualified.
In the Black & Grey category, only black, white, and grey ink is allowed.
In the Color category, at least one color other than black, grey, or white must be used.
Prizes and Recognition
Each category awards first, second, and third prize, for both the tattoo artist and the client.
Health Regulations and Collaborations
Two artists cannot work on the same piece from the same booth. In case of collaboration, the client must move between booths.
All current hygiene and safety regulations in Barcelona must be followed.
