The BAUM FEST has fulfilled the expectations that its organizers had about an event that increases each year in visitors and participants. On the 5th, 6th and 7th of October, about 18,000 people visited Hall 8 of this emblematic fairground. This fact corroborates that the art of tattooing and urban culture continues to rise.

That practically all the tattoo exhibitors were full during the three days of the tattoo show has been one of the most outstanding data by the organizers. In fact, one of the claims is, without doubt, the line-up of artists, who are among the best in the world. The 300 tattoo artists, from 32 countries, have made more than 1,000 tattoos, and most of them have tattooed large pieces.

Many could watch or get a tattoo from some of the most important international artists such as Deborah Cherrys, author of the poster of this year’s Convention, Ryan Ashley Malarkey, known for her appearances in the North American program of the Paramount chain “Ink Master Angels”, also the North American Teresa Sharpe, specialist in color realism, Alisha Gory arriving from the USA, as well as Jenna Kerr directly from London and Viviana Calvo, emerging artist of the national scene.

The artists who have supported the initiative “Tatuadores por la Paz” have been tattooing throughout the weekend at the “Stand of Tattoo Solidarity”. Thanks to them, it has been possible to raise 3,000 euros, in addition to the 600 euros collected by the youtuber stand Jordi Wild, who has been collaborating throughout the Convention, raising funds through the sale of his clothing line WILDSTYLE.

wild styleAll the amount raised – a total of 3,600 euros – will go to the NGO “Por una sonrisa lo doy todo” with the aim of supporting the new humanitarian aid project in the Syrian refugee camp in Tripoli (Lebanon).

So far, the initiatives promoted by this project have managed to educate young people and orphaned children, giving them the option of retaking their sporting practices thanks to football.

Among the most outstanding shows, all of which are related to art and urban culture, one could highlight the extreme sport that has been carried out in the EXTREME area. On the last day of the convention, the seventh edition of Breaking BBoy Battle & Allstyles was held, a competition that has established itself as one of the best within the urban dance circuit nationwide, in addition to the “Money 4 trick” BMX championship, InLine and Skate. The Break area, with its competitions, has gathered more than 300 participants from all over Spain and Europe.

The Baum Fest Bike Show, already consolidated in the peninsula, featured in this 2018 edition an exceptional jury composed by Francesco Mattioli (Italy), member of the International Master Bike Builders Association; Kirk Taylor (USA), American builder of the Custom Design Studios workshop in California; Frank Burguera (Spain), Technical Instructor of Harley-Davidson University Europe.

In parallel, numerous artists have continued to paint on the body of a Ferrari 458 Italia car that will circulate for a month in Barcelona.

The mechanical section of the SALESIANS DE SARRIÀ EPSS school was also present in the Junior Biker Build-Off (Jung’s buttery), where young builders have carried out their work on motorcycles donated by some of the best brands in the market during the three days of the convention.

The afternoon of October 7th has been throbbing again with more interesting offers: a concert by Lolita’s Sisters, the shibari bondage show, the exhibition of graffiti by the hand of Montana Colors, the exhibition of Sumi-e in charge of Alberto Castiñeira, and bodypainting.
